The 2005 Acura NSX finished in Berlina Black presented moderate swirl marks, surface scratching, and loss of clarity typical of dark performance finishes. Black paint systems reveal even minor surface defects, making proper correction technique essential for achieving uniform gloss and reflection.
A multi-stage Paint Correction process was performed to refine the clear coat, improve depth, and restore optical clarity while preserving the integrity of the original finish. Careful pad and polish selection allowed controlled defect removal without unnecessary clear coat reduction.
After correction, the Berlina Black finish regained strong reflectivity and improved surface uniformity, allowing the distinctive body lines of the NSX to present with greater visual contrast and depth. High-gloss black finishes require precise methodology to avoid holograms or micro-marring, particularly on performance vehicles with complex panel shapes.
Performed by Apollo Auto Spa in Marin County, Corte Madera at Marin Acura dealership, this project demonstrates the measurable difference proper paint correction can achieve on enthusiast-level vehicles.

This was an extreme Paint Correction – swirl removal situation. It’s not the only vehicle I’ve corrected that has this issue but it’s a bit rare. 20 years of paint curing didn’t matter at all, it did NOT harden in that time.
All finished and several layers of CS-II Titanium ceramic base and many layers of CS-II Titanium ceramic Top Coat and used it all.

SO MANY TRIALS to find a method that would finish this deep black down on each panel, which acted up on each panel.
